The rock below is a out cropping called a kopje ( pronounced  copy, it is a dutch word ). The pride rock is the one featured in the Lion King.

The London needle is in the City of Westminster, on the Victoria Embankment near the  Golden Jubilee Bridges.It was presented to the United Kingdom in 1819 by Mehemet Ali, the Albanian-born viceroy of Egypt, in commemoration of the victories of Lord Nelson at the Battle of the Nile and Sir Ralph Abercromby at the Battle of Alexandria in 1801. Although the British government welcomed the gesture, it declined to fund the expense of transporting it to London.

The obelisk remained in Alexandria until 1877 when Sir William James Erasmus Wilson, a distinguished anatomist and dermatologist, sponsored its transportation to London at a cost of some £10,000 (a very considerable sum in those days). It was dug out of the sand in which it had been buried for nearly 2,000 years and was encased in a great iron cylinder, 92 feet (28 m) long and 16 feet (4.9 m) in diameter, designed by the engineer John Dixon and dubbed Cleopatra, to be commanded by Captain Carter. It had a vertical stem and stern, a rudder, two bilge keels, a mast for balancing sails, and a deck house. This acted as a floating pontoon which was to be towed to London by the ship Olga, commanded by Captain Booth.

On my trip to Africa there where many birds, a lot of them colorful and in plain view. Here in the states I either don't notice them, or they are hiding.
I guess it is the same with people you can walk down the street and not notice  the person walking past you. Where they a person of color? What religion where they. What nationality? Would they enjoy a kosher food gift basket, or are they a cookies gift basket type person? We all have out tastes and dislikes, rather and rather not ! This is the baths at Bath England. The Romans found them and it is the only geothermal spot in England. The saying all roads lead to London comes from when the Romans occupied Britain all roads went straight out of London,so everytime you wanted to go some where you took one of the roads out and the same road back ( like a wagon wheels spokes ) finally someone cut across like the out side of the wheel and found the springs at Bath. You can tour the baths and see tiles still left with which they lined the springs. I believe they stayed pretty healthy useing the springs so get well gift baskets may not have been necessary.





Of course the baths where not for the common folk. They where reserved for the nobles and the king and queen. Did anyone remember to send a cookies gift basket?





In the town of Bath is a bridge that goes over the river and on both sides of the bridge/road are shops. The road is two lane and was rebuilt in the 1930's so it can handle todays traffic.As you can see the shops have windows over looking the river and there are resturants also.
